Welcome to this site which describes our search for an Independent Chair. We hope that, as you research our work and learn about all the stakeholders across our various places, communities and partnerships, you will share our excitement and determination to deliver the very best that enhanced collaboration can provide for all the citizens of this region.

We are seeking an Independent Chair who will be committed to delivering our vision, an experienced leader who will quickly gain credibility with our wide range of stakeholders.  You will bring impressive knowledge and understanding, sufficient to support the delivery of integrated working and transformational change in a complex and dynamic public sector environment.

This influential new role will bring leadership to a system that is focused on ensuring people have the best possible start in life; are supported to be healthy and live well; are provided with care that focuses not just on treating particular conditions but also on lifestyles, on healthy behaviours, prevention; and helps people live more independent lives for longer.

Through brokering decisions – some of which could be difficult and articulating the advantages of engagement and co-production, you will lead us in our current configuration and in due course, depending on the process regarding proposals in the White Paper (Integration and innovation: working together to improve health and social care for all), through transition into a new NHS ICS statutory body.

This is a high-profile position of regional and national significance, and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the skills and experience required to lead our ICS in its vital work developing and supporting our stakeholders individually and in their cross-organisational partnerships. We are looking for someone who is a team builder and a skilled ambassador.  Most of all we are looking for someone who is passionate about achieving the best possible health and care for the citizens of our region, addressing inequality and unlocking our full collective potential.
